Bound full elaborate gilt morocco, leather split along front hinge, front cover has been re-attached with a piece of linen cloth slipped under leather to form a new hinge, hinge is sound, vertical wrinkle in spine leather, edges with about half of the gilt worn away, decorated endpapers--with gold stars and blue leaves, lacks front free endpaper, large corner torn from rear free endpaper plus a small hole and chips in the outer edge, first few page edges worn, light foxing--heavier on first and last few pages.

Pencil inscription on front flyleaf: "To Miss M. Hopkins Dec. 25th 1875 -- R. G. Porter." Also: "Mrs Cora Duncan." Also a rubber stamp: "A. Y. Brown." Title and text printed within double thin line rules.

Collation: 1-916, 102. Pagination: (1) title, (1) copyright, p.3 "to the members...," (1) blank, 5-8 contents, 9-279 the Discipline, (1) blank, 281-291 index, p.292 new publications.

This is quite a nice Southern Methodist discipline with full elaborate gilt morocco binding and wide margins with text printed within ruled borders.
