Bound original maroon cloth, soiled, heavily rubbed, worn through cloth at corners and spine ends, endpapers split at inside hinges with hinges strengthened and loose pieces paper glue back down, pages tanning some, light foxing, 2 starts, a few blue ink stains spattered on pages edges with a bit of bleeding onto margins. 578pp +10pp ads, lacking frontispiece of John Smith but is supplied in color facsimile. A bit rough but all there. John (Raccoon) Smith (1884-1868) early Disciples of Christ minister in Kentucky. Smith was instrumental in bringing about a union of Alexander Campbell's followers and those of Barton W. Stone.
